The Most Expensive Holiday in the World
Whilst most of us are trying to work out if we can even afford a holiday this year, one website is offering what could be the most expensive holiday ever.
travel cardsVeryFirstTo.com is offering a true round the world trip that includes every World Heritage Site on the globe and takes a full two years to complete.
As you might expect, this isn’t a cheap option and the price tag of £445,000 per person means that those considering this trip might only have a journey to the orbiting Space Station as an alternative on their wish list.
The trip includes overland travel and all flights would be at least business class level. Accommodation includes stays at some of the world’s finest hotels such as Sandy Lane in Barbados, The Plaza in New York, The Ritz-Carlton in Moscow, the Hotel George V in Paris and the Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai.
VeryFirstTo.com linked up with luxury tour operator Hurlingham Travel to bring the idea to life. Andrew Barker, managing director of Hurlingham Travel, said: “This is certainly the most exciting trip we have ever managed and is the most remarkable travel adventure imaginable.”
962 locations around the world are currently recognised by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites including Stonehenge, The Pyramids of Giza, Easter Island, Machu Picchu, Notre Dame Cathedral and Vatican City.
Apart from the vast expense, the one possible downside is that the Foreign Office currently advises against travel to a number of the sites in countries such as Iran and Libya.
Other experiences offered by VeryFirstTo.com include that trip into space at £69,000 and the chance to wake up surrounded by more than one million rose petals £70,000.
If you are thinking about going on holiday this year but are worried about the expense, a prepaid card could be the answer. These are loaded with currency before you jet off, helping you to stay on top of your budget whilst overseas.
