Customers switching for a better deal
The Co-operative bank has revealed a boost in its current account sales during 2009.
The bank, winner of Best Financial Services Provider at the 2009 Which? Awards, reported a 22 per cent increase in customers switching their current accounts from other major providers.
When looking into reasons for switching, almost one in three people cited customer service, fourteen per cent wanted a clearer charging structure and around one in ten said they were looking for a more ethical provider.
However despite this increase in the number of people switching for a better deal, many people are still more likely to change energy supplier, move house or swap mobile phone company than change their current account.
