Credit card blocking to end?

Besides the obvious difficulties, Britons who were stranded abroad by the volcano ash also suffered from having their credit cards blocked, but this may change in the future.

Cards are often blocked as an anti-fraud precaution if they're used somewhere where the card owner is not expected to be.

However, software company ValidSoft have come up with a new product that could automatically locate a credit card’s owner, as well as their credit card.

The software works with the person['s mobile phone and as long as that is in the same country as the credit card when a transaction is made, there shouldn't be any problems with it getting blocked.

Ultimately, the decision is still the credit card company's, but the new software would give them a better indication as to whether a card is being used fraudulently or not.
