Banks need to rebuild trust

Consumers say banks need to listen more to their customers, if they're to rebuild trust in the banking sector.

That's according to the latest research from consumer champion Which?

It follows the financial crisis, and the controversy surrounding bankers bonuses.

More than eight out of ten people also want the government to take into account the views of both the banks and the public when looking at how to reform the industry.

Chief executive of Which?, Peter Vicary-Smith, says ordinary people are still feeling the repercussions of the financial crisis... but their voice has so far been missing from the debate about how to rebuild our banking system.

"Everyone uses banking services in some form or another so it’s only right that the public has a say in how banks can better serve society", according to the Which? boss.
