Acceptable currencies in Croatia
The official currency of Croatia is the Kuna (HRK). However if you want to transfer money to Croatia, you can also used USD which is widely accepted all over the country. Currency notes are available from Kn5 to Kn1000 and coins are available from 1 lipa to Kn25.

There are various ways in which you can transfer money to Croatia. The best way to do this is through the post office or a bank. However you might be limited to their working time. Banks generally work between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday and between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Traveller's cheques can also be used to transfer money in US Dollars, Pound Sterling or Euros. Another popular option that a lot of people explore is the use of pre paid cards. These cards can be used at ATMs all over the country and are a very convenient way of sending money to Croatia. They can be topped up via the internet or from a toll free number.

Restrictions that should be observed
When you send money to Croatia, you need to be aware that the country does have some restrictions that need to be followed. Receiving money in the local currency Kuna, can only be done up to a value of Kn2000. If this is in the form of notes, then it can only be up to a value of Kn500. There is not restriction on the amount of foreign currency.
