Virgin Prepaid credit card Review

Overview

Introducing the new Virgin pay as you go prepaid MasterCard. You spend on it just like a credit card and can use it wherever MasterCard cards are accepted. Difference is, you load it up with cash before you shop, rather than paying for it after. That means no worrying about bills or interest, and no getting carried away. Your pay as you go prepaid MasterCard can be used worldwide at over 25 million retail outlets and at over 900,000 ATM's worldwide. The minimum age for the Card is 13 years old. If you're under 18 please have a parent/guardian take out a card for you. once you have applied it take 7 – 10 days for your card to arrive once you have paid the application fee. Once you have Your Virgin prepaid MasterCard you load funds onto it. Each time you use the card, the amount of your purchase and a 2.95% fee are deducted from your balance. When your funds are running low you simply load up the card again

Main Good Points

A Virgin Pay As You Go Prepaid MasterCard allows you to shop in the high street, on the web, by phone, and by mail order, making life so much easier for those of us who don't have or want a credit card. And because there are no postal statements it's handy for hiding prezzie purchases from a partner's prying eyes.

Want to pay by cash get an e voucher. - An e-voucher is used when you're applying for a card and paying in cash. Hand your cash to a PayPoint retailer and ask for a 360money e-voucher. This voucher contains a code which you'll then need to type into the application screen to pay for and/or load your new Virgin Pay As You Go Card.

Bad Points

To tell you the truth I couldn’t find one bad point about the Pay As You Go Prepaid MasterCard.

Or email Virgin at  payasyougo@virginmoney.com - Lost / Stolen cards call us on 08456 601 606 immediately and they will block the lost card so it can't be used. Then they will transfer the funds onto a replacement card and get that sent out to you within 7 days. You'll be charged £4.95 for a replacement card.

Please note that all discounts are applied before the card transaction fee of 2.95%. Virgin Wines and Virgin insurance discounts are only available to customers over 18.

Application Process

As you would expect secure website protection, the form takes an average of a minute to complete, make sure you have a form of ID before you start either your passport or driving licence. Once you completed the Virgin Pay As You Go Prepaid MasterCard application form you can either pay online or by e voucher at your nearest retailer.

Using Abroad

Being a Prepaid MasterCard, Virgin Pay As You Go Prepaid MasterCard can be used at 25 million retail outlets and 900,000 ATM’s worldwide. If you get the card first you can save 20% off your next holiday booking.

Reload

Top up for free at the Post Office or by cash - e voucher, standing order and debit cards. As an additional feature you can top up by debit card over the phone for free, top up by paypoint is 2.75% and by credit card is 2.5% per reload. Minimum load is £10.00, single maximum load is £5000.00

Complaints Procedure
