MBNA Points Credit Card Overview

With MBNA Reward Points your choice is endless – Choose the rewards you want, when you want them. They have made it really easy for you to earn your points – just use your card for your everyday card purchases such as food, petrol and going out, and for every £1 you spend, they will give you 1 point.

Any choice of travel rewards – Unlike some other schemes, you’re not restricted to limited travel offers. Use this service as your own personal travel agency and redeem your points for an endless choice of flights, hotels, package holidays, city breaks and car hire. You can pay part points and part cash

High street vouchers – Use your points in exchange for vouchers from your favourite high street shops including Selfridges, John Lewis, Boots, Halfords, WHSmith and Debenhams, plus many more. Get cash to use how you want – If you prefer straight cash, you can exchange your points for this too.

Who can apply for this credit card?

You must be over 18, a UK resident and have a landline phone number to get a MBNA Rewards Visa credit card. We recommend you have your salary, banking and employment address details to hand to avoid any delays in applying.

The online application form takes a five minutes to complete with an easy step by step instructions and as you would expect secure website protection, make sure you have all the details with you as the application will ask you your personal details, details about your work, what type of card you want and finally confirm the legals, terms and conditions.

What benefits do you get with your Credit Card?

Earn points every time you use your MBNA points credit card which can be used on a whole range of benefits from travel rewards to exchanging them in to retailers vouchers to opting for cash instead. Plus MBNA offer great balance transfer intro rates at 0% for 13 months,

    • Up to 50 days on card purchases only, if you pay your statement balance in full and on time every month, otherwise interest will be charged as set out below

What are the default charges?

MBNA Points credit card charge £12 for going over your credit limit, paying late, or payments that bounce.

What is the minimum payment each month?

If the balance shown on your statement is £25 or less, it will be the total amount of the statement balance; or if the balance shown on your statement is more than £25 , it will be whichever is the least of 3 % of the statement balance or the total of any Payment Protection Cover charges, interest, handling fees and default charges plus £5, provided that it will always be at least £25. You can avoid additional charges by staying within your credit limit and ensure that your payments are received on time.

Your right to cancel?

The Consumer Credit Act 1974 lays down certain requirements for your protection which should have been complied with when this agreement was made. If they were not, we cannot enforce this agreement without a Court order.
The Act also gives you a number of rights:
1) You can settle this agreement at any time by giving notice in writing and paying off the amount you owe under the agreement.
2) If you received unsatisfactory goods or services paid for under this agreement, apart from any bought with a cash loan, you may have a right to sue the supplier, us, or both.
3) If the contract is not fulfilled, perhaps because the supplier has gone out of business, you may still be able to sue us.

Where do I make a complaint?

If you would like to make a complaint about your MBNA Rewards credit card, please write to them at MBNA Europe Bank Limited, PO Box 1004, Chester Business Park, Wrexham Road, Chester CH4 9WW. They have procedures in place which will make sure they handle your complaint fairly and quickly. However if you are not satisfied with the outcome of your complaint you can write to Financial Ombudsman Service at South Quay Plaza, 183 Marsh Wall, London E14 9SR.
