Overview

The Crystal prepaid MasterCard is a pay as you go MasterCard, can be used worldwide at over 25 million retail outlets and at over 900,000 ATM’s worldwide. Any one over the age of 18 can get one; once you have applied it take 3 days for your card to arrive once you have paid the activation fee.

Main Good Points

The Crystal card is an impressive prepaid card is my first impression, The first prepaid card I have seen where you can top up at any HSBC or Barclays bank and only 3 days to get your card as the average is 10 to 21 days and available in GBP (£), Euro (€) and USD ($)

Bad Points

Could have done a better crystal logo, in addition getting your card is from 10 to 21 days.

Service

Tests were conducted on the customer service centre as we do with all prepaid cards. Overall average level of service, Calls answered quickly and efficiently. Calls to Customer Service only cost £0.10 from a BT landline, compared to some companies that charge £0.80 + just to get the help you need.

As with all branded MasterCard’s you get all the perks, here are just a few of the discounts you get - Great Hotels of the world – an amazing 60% discount - American Airlines – 15% discount on return transatlantic flight to US - Hertz car hire – 10% off best available rates plus a free one-car class upgrade.

Application Process

International online verification coming in to place shortly, one of the few companies I have seen to have this process. Enter your passport number or driving licence number and it verifies your postal address internationally so there is no need to send any additional paperwork. This site has secure website protection, Process takes about a minute to complete you can either pay online or Crystal will send you a letter in the post for you to pay at any Barclays bank.
