Cashplus Premier Prepaid Card Review

The Cashplus premier gold MasterCard is an established prepaid card in the prepaid debit card market. With some unique features such as purchase protection.

Cashplus voluntarily provides all customers with free purchase protection, similar to that which credit card companies are required to provide under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.  In the event that goods are not received or defective/damaged cashplus would dispute the transaction on your behalf and in most cases recover the funds already paid to the merchant and credit your account.

Why get a Cashplus prepaid credit card?

One of CashPlus best features is you pay a set fee of £29.99 to get your account live once you receive your gold card you can use it free from any transaction charges or monthly charges.

CashPlus premier gold card plan is ideal if you plan to use your card on a regular basis – based on more than 2 times a month. If you use more than 2 times a month this works out cheaper than the Cashplus pay as you go card, also if you don’t need creditbuilder then this plan works out cheaper than the activeplus if used on a regular basis.

What sort of service do they offer?

Cashplus have an exceptional level of service and this is proven with the many customer service awards they have won. Customers are able to service their card in 3 ways: Via Customer Service or Secure Members’ Area and Text Message.

I was first introduced to Cashplus around 5 years ago. I’d not behaved with credit and had found myself on an IVA. Cashplus provided me with the ability to use plastic without the risk of debt.

Now off the IVA and doing very well I find my Cashplus card invaluable. On a recent holiday I was able to use my card to secure car hire (they will unlock this for you) and of course it’s one of the only pre paid cards out there that have purchase protection.

I would recommend this to anyone that is new to credit, has a poor credit history or just wants to be sensible. It’s impossible to spend more than you have and you learn to budget better and unlike a credit card where you just spend, spend, spend.

Unfortunately as I am not a newcomer I don’t believe I can have the £29.99 yearly charge, instead I have to pay nearly £5 if I want free transactions. Another company that fails to reward loyal customers, but do not let that put you off.

I was always so bad with credits card and my debit card snapped whilst paying for a train ticket, lucky I had cash but having a top card card is such reassurance for extra funds, much safer for making purchases over the internet and good to help you budget. I like having full access and paying £30 a year is ok no additional charges keeps thing simple… love it !
