Card One is great if you like charges for everything (including £1 fee every time you use a cash machine), waiting extra long for funds to arrive, having to use standing orders when the rest of the world uses Direct Debits, restrictive rules about accessing your money, no cheque facility... Look elsewhere if you want a decent basic bank account.

Had the account 6 months now and have had no trouble at all.Fingers crossed it stays that way. Monthly fee is much better than the £35 I was being charged by my old bank who would cancel direct debits without informing me and paid out money that wasnt in my account in the first place then charged excessive amounts for being overdrawn !!! Will stick with Card one

Like Kevin above, we have had a brilliant service from Card One. We have always found them very helpful. Ideal account for people with poor credit rating. In control at all times

Great account, 'it does what it says on the tin'...Simple to use, great service at a good price. You actualy keep complete control over your money. Would highly recommend to any person with a not so good credit rating. Not one problem in over a year and I could not say that about Lloyds!

Canceled my account 2 moths and £24 odd monthly charges in saying they didn't like the details I gave them on the application !!!!!! Oh and If I want to have the money back that is in my now unusable account I have to pay them £5 !!!!

You have to pay more money for getting this services. I also cancel it because they keep ringing me up and i tell them to cancel it

An expensive account, but if credit checks are a problem its a quick solution
