Who can apply for this credit card?

You must be over 18, a UK resident and have a landline phone number to get a Capital One Classic MasterCard credit card. We recommend you have your salary, banking and employment address details to hand to avoid any delays in applying.

What are the default charges?

  • Late payment fee: £12
  • Over credit limit: £12
  • Returned payment: £12

What is the minimum payment that I will need to make each month?

1% or £5, whichever is greater. If you only make the minimum payment it will take longer and cost you more to clear your balance. You can avoid additional charges by staying within your credit limit and ensure that your payments are received on time.

What is my credit limit?

They will choose your credit limit and tell you what it is. They may vary it at any time and write to let you know. The minimum credit limit that you can have under this agreement is £200. The credit limit may be increased after four months if you manage your account responsibly.

Where do I make a complaint?

If you would like to make a complaint about your Capital One credit card, you can write to them at The Manager, Executive Office, Capital One Bank ( Europe ) plc, PO Box 5281 , Nottingham NG2 3HX . They have procedures in place which will make sure they handle your complaint fairly and quickly. However if you are not satisfied with the outcome of your complaint you can write to Financial Ombudsman Service at South Quay Plaza, 183 Marsh Wall, London E14 9SR.
