The BREAD Card is a flexible ‘pay-as-you-go’ Maestro card. It can be used at over 9 million retail outlets worldwide. Anyone over the age of 18 can get one; once you have paid the activation fee it takes within 10 days for your card to arrive. Bread card have now introduced cash back facility when you shop online at selected retailers
Main Good Points





The BREAD Card is a unique prepaid card offering the true meaning of value for money. The card is £10.00 to get but has the major benefit over prepaid cards on the market is free monthly fees charges. where you pay per transaction at 2% this is a fantastic offer. You can also pay for a BREAD Card online by SMS / Text.
Bad Points
Customer service line is £0.80 per minute from BT landline, use the online service instead it free.
Service




The customer service level is average. Calls to Customer Service do cost £0.80 from a BT landline so use the online facility where possible or if you require a balance enquiry a text only cost £0.25.
Card Features





Bread currently offer card to card transfer, which is only £1.50 from BREAD Card to BREAD Card, compared to western union this the most cost effective way of transferring funds for a fraction of the cost.
On speaking to the Managing director of BREAD Card I have been told that there are new benefits and discounts coming soon.
Application Process




The form takes an average of a minute to complete with an easy step by step guide and as you would expect secure website protection, make sure you have a form of ID before you start either your passport (digital passport no required) or UK driving licence. Once you completed the form you can either pay online or Bread will send you a letter in the post for you to pay via SMS, pay point or credit or debit card.
Using Abroad




The BREAD Card prepaid card is very flexible able use worldwide including getting your cash via ATM’s. This is a safer alternative then carrying cash when going on holiday

Cost of loading cash onto the BREAD Card is 3% at PayPoints (a network of 17,000 outlets across the UK), you can also have your wages transferred onto your BREAD Card for only £0.25p. The minimum load is £10.00 and the maximum single load is £500.00.
