FairFX Card in Russia

I have been using the FairFX card in Volgograd with disastrous results!!!! The card intermittently refuses to pay. In one day alone - I was refused at four main bank Mastercard machines! An explanantion by FairFX on email was that there were system problems which had been rectified!

At a travel agent the card did not pay out for an airline ticket!! The transaction for $634 dollars was attempted twice!! On each occassion the transaction failed. I then paid with my bank debit card! On checking my FX account online I discovered to my horror that the failed ticket transactions showed two debits totalling $1268. I had effectively paid for the ticket a total of three times.

As of now I am not willing to top up my card in case of further losses and am having to pay the usual exchange rates for my bank debit card! I am chasing FairFX for an explanation and a refund - an adjustment to my balance shown. I suspect that there has been another 'system problem'!

Other issues are that they do not offer 24/7 support and are only available by phone at UK office times.

The online transaction listing also seems very odd! The balances shown do not seem to be current and are not consistent with the withdrawl dates given!

So far not a happy experience with this much hyped card!!! I will not be using it again!
