Sterling Card is a prepaid card. It gives you many of the benefits of a bank account with added security.

Your new card is a MasterCard® prepaid card. This means that like a pay as you go phone, you need to put money on your account before you can use it. It is not a debit card that is linked to a bank account or credit card where you pay for your transactions at a later date.

Whether for everyday use, travel, sharing money abroad or even just for online spending, it is in no way linked to your money in a bank account and therefore limits your exposure to fraud.
