Re: What is a prepaid card? [ Started by prepaid in Prepaid Cards most asked questions : 1 replies ]

Prepaid cards are similar to credit or debit cards, except the money you spend is pre-loaded onto the card - much like a gift card or a mobile phone top-up.

You cannot borrow money on a prepaid card, so you can't go overdrawn or get into any debt. This is the beauty about prepaid - eliminating the risk of going in to debt

Re: Who can get one? [ Started by prepaid in Prepaid Cards most asked questions : 1 replies ]

With most prepaid cards you need to (in the UK) have a government form of ID (Passport or Driving License etc) and also a UK address. From time to time the checks that are done (not credit checks) cannot verify identities and addresses of which clients will then need to send in a copy of their ID and some sort of Utility bill - this is a requirement that needs to be followed strictly and once the company receives these documents, can issue your card.
