Paid-for bank accounts now the norm
New research has found that the number of paid-for current bank accounts has overtaken the more traditional free bank accounts for the first time ever.
According to personal finance researchers Defaqto there has been a 94 per cent rise in packaged bank accounts over the last four years.
These accounts usually offer consumers additional benefits such as free travel insurance and breakdown cover and often offer other advantages such as lower overdraft fees.
