An expert is warning that people should not use credit cards to pay every day bills.
This comes after it was revealed that five million Britons pay their bills on their credit cards.
Richard Sorsky from the UK Insolvency Helpline Debt Advice Service says many people are turning to credit to pay tax bills and even mortgage payments.
He says this is "financial suicide" and people need to learn to live within their budget.
Mr Sorsky is advising Brits to use current accounts to pay bills where possible and save credit card debts for emergencies only.
