World Cup warning for credit card holders
Britons who are considering going to the World Cup in South Africa need to be careful about their credit card usage after the number of skimming attempts has increased significantly.

The First National Bank (FNB) have been tracking fraud on cloned cards and saw the amount rise from £1.6m last year to £8m now.

Many South African credit cards still use magnetic strips, rather than chip and pin, meaning that committing fraud is easier.

Tourists need to be aware of this and make sure their card is signed before they can make transactions.

FNB's Henk Vermeulen warns people to keep their cards in their possession at all times and to be careful when using ATMs.

He advises that people contact their credit card company immediately if they suspect something has happened to their card.ADNFCR-2939-ID-19777517-ADNFCR
