New case turns iPhone into credit card
Mobile phones will soon be useable as contactless credit cards, if a new gadget launched in the USA takes off.

Credit card giant Visa and DeviceFidelity have launched a case that slips around your iPhone, plugging into the handset's dock.

Once a user has downloaded the necessary software, the phone can be 'read' by swipe-free credit card terminals.

The In2Pay case combines a microSD card and communications chip, and builds on a technology that was presented and then quickly withdrawn last year.

M-commerce has been slow to take off since it was first heralded as one of the coming technologies, but the range of applications that the latest generation of smartphones allows seem to be making it a reality.

Last week, Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey launched a service called Square, which also allows a smartphone to be used for making card and bank payments.ADNFCR-2939-ID-19788933-ADNFCR
