Borrowers face crippling interest rates
Interest rates for credit cards at their highest since 1998 and buying items on plastic will now cost you nearly a quarter more than it did four years ago.

Since the late 1990's when rates were driven down because of increasing competition, they've been steadily increasing with nearly 7 million customers getting their rates bumped up over the past year.

A new study claims that increasing pressure on household finances is leading around 2 in 10 of us to use our credit cards at least once a day.

Two in five credit card customers are using their credit to buy simple daily necessities such as petrol and groceries.

Lenders are now being accused of 'sticking the knife in' on households who are already finding it difficult to cope, despite rate hikes.ADNFCR-2939-ID-19620785-ADNFCR
