Prepaid cards save travellers money on holiday
Holiday makers could save ten per cent on the cost of their trip, if they switch to prepaid foreign currency cards.
The Telegraph reports that the cards are safer to manage than traditional credit or debit cards abroad, with easy to understand charges if there are any.
They work just like a debit card, but as you pre-load them with money rather than using it to access your bank account, it could make it easier to budget while you're abroad.
Industry experts say as confidence in banks remains low, the popularity of prepaid credit and debit cards is rising.
One other advantage of using a card over cash, is that it's generally quicker to replace a lost or stolen card than cash.
