The collapse of airline Flyglobespan has shown the huge advantages of booking holidays with a credit card.

Holidaymakers who booked this way should get a full refund, but those who used a debit card or another type of payment are not guaranteed their money back.

Booking through a tour operator affiliated to the Air Travel Organisers' Licensing (ATOL) scheme is also a way to arm against an airline going bust.

4,000 passengers have been stranded abroad after the airline collapsed. A further 1,300 people have had their flights cancelled.

People in search of a good break might want to compare credit cards on compareprepaid.co.uk to get the best deals out there.ADNFCR-2939-ID-19523007-ADNFCR
