The AA credit card is helping motorists struggling with the high cost of fuel by offering a rewards scheme when they use it to pay for petrol.
Following the one pence increase in fuel duty which took effect from October motorists are also expecting a further two and half pence increase with the VAT rise next year.
The AA credit card however offers customers a return of up to 4 percent when they earn points on their motoring or fuel spend to use against other AA products.
“This is putting huge pressure on many household budgets at a time when many families are struggling to stretch their £ further,” commented Mark Huggins, AA Financial Services director.
“You could give yourself an early Christmas present by taking out an AA Credit Card and start earning points straight away.”
The AA Reward Points can be used to purchase goods as well as AA products such as shopping vouchers, wine, days out or even cashback.
Over one year for example if a family were to drive 15,000 miles at the average 35 miles per gallon, totalling 1,948 litres the total cost of fuel would be £2,318.12, it would earn them a total of 4,636 points.
Travel Money Card
This new offer follows the recent launch of their new Prepaid Euro Travel Currency MasterCard for an easy and cost effective means to carry currency abroad for autumn breaks.
A recent survey conducted by the AA showed families are cutting back holiday spending due to the rocky economic climate as 56 percent admitted to having changed or are changing their plans as a result.
This new travel money card once loaded with the currency of the traveller’s choice allows families to make savings as spending abroad through it avoids expensive charges.
The card also offers a secure alternative to carrying cash or a debit or credit cards abroad and there are no transaction fees or charges for withdrawing over €50 at ATMs.
