Sainsbury’s has launched its new Nectar Credit Card, with a rate of just 6.9% APR - 1% lower than its nearest rival the Barclaycard Simplicity.
The new Sainsbury's Credit Card is only available for Nectar card customers and has a no fee balance transfer at the “lowest rate available on any card in the market”, according to the company.
The card also offers 0% for 15 months on balance transfers (3% balance transfer applies), 0% for 6 months on all purchases, Double Nectar points for every £1 you spend on your card in Sainsbury's for the first two years and one Nectar point for every £5 spent on your card elsewhere.
“With an APR of just 6.9 per cent this card is a much cheaper way to manage your cash flow than an overdraft. Even if you can't clear your statement balance in full every month the interest charges aren't going to hit your pocket too hard,” says Andrew Hagger, from Moneynet.
Barclaycard
Barclaycard made a big impact on the credit card market recently by launching a two year, 0% balance transfer rate card – the longest ever available to UK consumers.
That was the first time that a two year balance transfer card has been made available in the UK. The deal emphasises Barclaycard’s intention to stay at the top of the balance transfer comparison tables.
The card offers 17.9% APR representative variable, 0% on balance transfers for 2 years and 0% on purchases for 3 months.
The deal was also considered to be a direct response to the recent balance transfer deals released by both Virgin and MBNA.
With so many credit cards available in the market these days, it is important to compare credits cards to you make sure that you always make the most of your money.
