Halifax launches credit card deals for new customers

Halifax bank has launched a new offer on its Clarity credit card, which gives new customers up to £100 cash-back in their first year.

The new deal offered by the bank is available to new customers who take out a Halifax Clarity credit card between 3 January and 19 February.

Those who take out a Clarity card with Halifax, either in-branch or over the phone, will receive £5 cash-back for every full £500 they transfer on to the card.

This deal is available up to a maximum of £40 cash-back, and customers must transfer their credit card balance within 30 days of opening the account.

As well as this cash-back incentive, customers who have a Halifax current account can earn extra cash-back when they use their Clarity card.

Qualifying Halifax current account holders can earn £5 cash-back for every statement month in which they spend £300 or more with their Clarity credit card. This can earn up to £60 in cash-back each year.

“The Halifax Clarity card really does set the standard for simplicity,” said Richard Washington, head of Halifax Cards.

“It is great news that customers transferring their balance this New Year will not only benefit from our straightforward, no-fees approach but will also receive competitive cash rewards.”

The Halifax Clarity card offers customers 12.9% APR, and does not charge any usage fees. Other features of the Clarity card include no balance transfer fees, no charge for foreign use, and no charge for cash withdrawals.

As well as a discount for switching credit cards, Halifax is also offering customers the chance to earn £100 by switching bank accounts.

Until 19 February, customers who visit a Halifax branch to switch their bank account to Halifax will receive £100 as soon as they open the account and commence the switching process.
