Over 40% suffer credit card fraud
More than four out of every ten (44 per cent) Britons has suffered from credit card fraud, a survey has revealed.

The figures from Infosecurity Europe also shows that the average amount stolen was over £1400 (£1448) and in well over a third (37 per cent) of cases, the victim did not get their money back from the bank.

Whilst the vast majority (91 per cent) of people who lost more than £5000 on their credit card got their cash back, only two fifths (41 per cent) who lost less than £100 were compensated.

Six people in ten blamed retailers for money being taken from their credit card, whereas only one in eight (12 per cent) thought their banks were at fault. Just over a quarter (28 per cent) blamed themselves.ADNFCR-2939-ID-19757018-ADNFCR
