Credit cards cheaper than store cardsConsumers need to be careful when signing up for store cards as they can often end up being more expensive than regular credit cards.

Martin Bamford, chartered financial planner and managing director of Informed Choice, believes that a conventional credit card is usually a more prudent option.

“You are much more likely to get a better rate of interest from your credit card, particularly if you move to a balance transfer deal in the future,” he commented.

A recent survey by revealed that two people in five (42 per cent) of people with store cards said that they had felt pressured into signing up, without knowing the full terms and conditions.
